A Walk In The Park

I spent this weekend in the company of good folk, Brad and his parents at the Three Rivers Park District at Elm Creek, Eastman and Silverwood.
The tranquil paths were not bustling with patrons as I am sure they were a few months ago, yet I felt the presence of the people past who, perhaps like us came to commune with nature and to find a sense of themselves that gets lost in our daily realities.
There was a chill in the air of transformation as the last of leaves were floating down from branches and gently swirling at my feet. There were a flock of Mallards swimming at the shoreline beneath a rough woooden bridge at Silverwood and they were plump and happy and oblivious to the  curious onlookers above their heads.
Brad introduced us to many varieties of flowers and plants with such beautiful aromas!
This time of year is the death of a year when all things must shed their life energy and sleep. There was a peaceful whisper among the trees as they slowly begin their decsent into winter's rest.
I love spending time with our Mother Earth and giving thanks for all she is to us and does for us.
Good night beloved Mother , sleep well.
