War, time, hatred, fear, greed, lust, all things that take away our innocence and our dreams.
These things that harden our hearts turns what is precious to glass and we see through it to the past and see what we wanted for our life, but for some the future smashes it into cutting shards.
Survival is a bitter pill and our one true addiction. When we reach the end of our life we wonder what it was all about and wonder what happened to our hopes and dreams. Some people grow away from what they were destined to be into a twisted reality. Others flourish like blossoms.
Change is not always good. Change in the face of war is only a tool to survive the pain of growth.
Geishas once regarded as regal almost royal in their purpose and necessity were reduced to street whores by the invading Americans in the aftermath of WWII. Native Americans were original people and we conquered them in insidious ways with cunning and bloodshed.
Did you know the first settlement, Jamestowne included free black people who had Rights, land and businesses? Did you know it was a Native American tribe; who supported George Washington that are the original devolopers of vaccines and shared this knowledge with Washington thus saving countless lives of soldiers. And the man, Friedrich Steuben who was Washington's advisor and founding father of ours the greatest military was an immigrant from Prussia and a known Homosexual, known to all including Washington? And there is the Civil War, culminated out of the south's fear of losing a grip on their agricultural wealth, wealth they owe wholly to Afican Americans who were dragged from their beds, chained and brought here to be slaves. New York, the financial backbone of the entire world was founded by the Dutch.
The Irish built the Erie Canal and the Chinese built our railroads and one third of the Norwegian population came here and became our logging industry. Texas Longhorn cattle were developed by the Spanish as was more or less the American Cowboy, who one out of three were Black or Hispanic.
How quickly we forget. How quickly we sweep truth under the rug.
Lincoln freed the slaves but without education, opportunity and support they are free but lost like tornado survivors coming into the light naked and in shock.
Day after day the media is flooded with stories of racist fueled murders and guns becoming the first options for any reason whatsoever.
I love my nation more than anyone or anything, love as a mother does completely and unconditionally to a problem child. I want my nation to hold itself up with pride and dignity at the head of the line because we earned the right by way of example not by force. Here we are still living with Civil War. Still at war with our beliefs and fear of what we know little of because it is easier to be lazy of mind and heart than to let go of what holds us back and become the expectation of our founding fathers. Be unafraid to rise above our collective ignorance to be the greatest human on earth, the American.
The Declaration of Independance
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.
