Broken Hearts

In 2011 I was almost sucked in by a dirtbag known as a Romance Scammer.
I learned quickly the signs and patterns and began flushing them out on my own.
Billions of innocent people just looking for love get swindled every year, don't become one of them.
I really do know the agony of loving and losing and rejection, but I also know how all the bad melts away when that one true soulmate comes on the scene so don't give up hope and don't allow your heart to be broken by a romance scammer.

This Valentine’s Day, the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota is trying to keep people from getting a broken heart – and an empty wallet.
The BBB is warning people to watch out for “romance scams.” This is a scheme in which thieves defraud people by pretending to be a love interest and then trying to get money from them.
The BBB says these scams usually happen via email, social media and online dating services, and victims are often people who are new to the Internet or not very tech-savvy.
In a romance scam, a relationship usually develops online or over the phone as victims respond to fake online profiles or ads. Scammers often progress the relationship quickly and tell victims whatever they want to hear, according to the BBB.
The suspect will then ask for money, often in the form of a request to buy a plane ticket so the couple can meet up. The suspect then asks for more money as they make excuses why they can’t make the trip, such as an illness or losing their job.
The BBB is reminding people to never send money to someone you’ve never met in person, and that someone who cares about you won’t put you in financial jeopardy.
Other red flags to be aware of, according to the BBB, include:
  • People who ask to talk or chat on an outside email or messaging service
  • Anyone who declares their love without meeting you or knowing anything real about you
  • People who prefer to communicate only over email or the phone
  • Anyone who says they can’t meet because they are traveling or working abroad
  • Requests for money or credit card information
